EDIT: updated informations page about pet rescue in Japan
thanks to
r_amythest for the link!
ALL OF YOU JAPAN LOVERS, ANIME & MANGA LOVERS, WE CAN'T LET THOSE ANIMALS AND PETS DIE OF STARVATION AND DEHYDRATATION: IT'S CRUEL, GRATUITOUS AND UTTERLY INHUMAN.
JAPANESE GOVERNMENT DIDN'T RAISE A FINGER TO HELP AND RESCUE ALL THE ANIMALS IN THE FUKUSHIMA EVACUATION ZONE YET, THOUSANDS OF PETS HAVE BEEN ABANDONED FOR NO APPARENT REASON AND NOBODY IS ALLOWED TO ENTER THE EVACUATION ZONE FOR MORE THAN 25 DAYS.
THIS IS NOT WORTHY OF ANY COUNTRY THAT DEEMES ITSELF CIVIL, PROGRESSED AND EDUCATED AS JAPAN HAS ALWAYS BEEN.
JAPAN'S SYMBOL IS HACHIKO, A LOYAL, BIG-HEARTED DOG WHO WAITED HIS OWNER UNTIL THE END: THIS IS THE JAPAN WE WANT, NOT A COUNTRY THAT ABANDONS ITS ANIMALS TO THE CRUELEST DESTINY
PETS ARE OUR FAMILY! LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD!

Date: 2011-05-19 05:57 am (UTC)I lol'd a little at the level of difference in upset-ness your entries conveyed about the animals and then the actual people who died in the earthquake.
Hopefully as many animals as possible were saved, though!

Date: 2011-05-19 09:29 am (UTC)well, that I generally care more about animals than people is not a secret, but that does not mean I do care about people! and to be fair, I just lazily copy-pasted this from another lj, I did not write a word of it XD
Anyway, yes, I really hope so!

Date: 2011-05-19 06:18 pm (UTC)It's true that I usually feel worse about animals suffering than humans suffering, but that's because I'm more sensitive about it, that's a part of my personality, but I absolutely do not think that people are less worth than animals or that, in this case, those pets deserve more than the people hit by the earthquake (to tell the truth, I see people and animals at the same exact level of "importance", but that's another speech).
This was just a different situation, it didn't involve actual resources or anything more than a sign on a petition, an action that costs nothing. And as I've already said, I copy-pasted this from another livejournal and mostly for the links, those were not my words....It's not like I do not give a shit about those people or do not approve donation to Japan, or to people instead than pets, that would be crazy and was absolutely not the meaning behind this entry...actually, I wish I could donate too, and I often did, but I really do not have to spare at the moment. I know we already talked about it here but I just wanted to explain myself, hope I did it decently this time...
That's all, I did not thought enough about my words before speaking and that was very stupid of me, I'm truly sorry.
